Tim Truax is a podcaster, producer, community builder, and the founder and CEO of PodSummit, Canada’s podcast event.

His journey into podcasting began in 2015 when he turned a lifelong obsession with pop culture into The Nerd Room, a show dedicated to the worlds of Star Wars, Marvel, and fandom. Over the decade since, Tim has hosted, produced, and edited more than 500 episodes, giving him a front-row seat to the evolution of podcasting from a niche medium into a powerful part of the creator economy.

In 2027, Tim will debut Fandom, a new video podcast series exploring the people, stories, and shared passions behind the things we love—and what our fandoms can reveal about identity, belonging, and connection.

Today, Tim’s work extends well beyond the microphone. Through PodSummit, he is focused on bringing Canada’s podcast community together, creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, and growth while championing a stronger and more sustainable Canadian podcast ecosystem.

And when he’s not thinking about podcasts? Tim is a professional geologist—equally comfortable exploring the worlds above and below the ground.
