HOW THIS STARTED
THE SPARK
At PodSummit, our journey began with a shared passion for podcasting and a deep desire to connect people in a world that sometimes feels more isolated than ever.
For Tim, the spark was lit back in 2015 when he discovered the world of podcasting. What started as a personal hobby, quickly grew into an all-consuming passion. Tim saw podcasts not only as a medium for storytelling, but as a powerful platform to inspire, educate, and connect people. As he dove deeper into the podcasting world, he realized that this medium had the potential to reshape how we communicate—creating a space where voices from all walks of life could be heard, shared, and amplified.
Sydney, on the other hand, always had a strong desire to bring people together. She’s someone who believes in the power of community and connection, whether through conversations or creating spaces where people can collaborate and learn, it has always been about finding a way to connect people.
THE VISION
A shared vision began to emerge, to create a space where podcasting in Canada could thrive, and where people could come together to share ideas, experiences, and inspiration. As we embarked on building PodSummit, we saw an opportunity to address a gap in the Canadian podcasting landscape—one where communities felt fragmented and isolated. Our mission became clear: we wanted to create a gathering that wasn’t just about technology and trends, but about fostering a sense of connection and community among podcasters and listeners alike.
We’re here to break down silos, share knowledge, and empower creators to connect, grow, and thrive together. It’s about creating a space where ideas can flourish, voices can be heard, and the power of podcasting can make a real difference in shaping the conversations that matter.
