SPEAKER APPLICATION
SHOWCASING THE CANADIAN PODCAST EXPERIENCE AND AMPLIFYING CANADIAN VOICES IN PODCASTING
PodSummit Speaker Application
To create more opportunities for Canadian voices to be heard at PodSummit this year, we are pleased to be opening up a limited number of 2026 speaker slots for application. We’re looking for dynamic, experienced, and engaging speakers with valuable insights, unique ideas, or captivating stories in areas like podcast growth, monetization, storytelling, video, and technology. The application window for speaker sessions, workshops, and panels opens on Wednesday, April 15th and will close on Wednesday, April 29th.
What are the Speaker dates for PodSummit 2026?
You must be able to speak, in person (Calgary, Canada), on both Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th. Any selected speakers will be given their exact speaker time within one month of the event.
What are the A/V Capabilities at The Grand?
The Grand offers high-end audio and visual capabilities across two dynamic and immersive venue rooms - The Flanagan Theatre and The Studio. Each presenter will be given an audio copy of their session to distribute on their own channels.
How long are the speaker sessions?
Each session will have a 45-60 minute slot within the schedule. We recommend a 25-40 minute session length plus an audience Q&A. The expectation isn’t to fill the entire time slot it is to deliver an engaging session and discussion.
What are the different session types?
There are three different session types available for application this year. Please note that we are not accepting applications for live podcast recordings.
Speaker Session
A Speaker Session typically features a single presenter who shares insights, knowledge, or experiences on a specific topic. These sessions are usually focused on delivering in-depth information about a particular aspect of podcasting, such as storytelling, production tips, audience growth, or monetization strategies. The speaker may use visual aids, such as slides, to enhance the experience, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions after the presentation.
Workshop
A Workshop is a more interactive, hands-on learning experience where attendees actively participate. Workshops typically involve practical activities, group discussions, and exercises that allow participants to gain new skills or improve existing ones. For instance, a workshop might focus on how to improve sound quality, edit audio effectively, or develop a podcast brand. It's designed to provide direct, applicable knowledge that attendees can immediately put into practice.
Panel
A Panel involves a group of podcasters, experts, or industry professionals discussing a specific topic or theme, usually from different perspectives. Panel sessions allow for a broader range of insights on a subject and often involve a moderator to guide the conversation and keep things on track. Attendees may have the opportunity to ask questions to the panelists, making this a great session for those seeking diverse viewpoints or specific advice from multiple experts in the field. If you are submitting a panel, please designate a moderator to submit the application. Please ensure you have the commitment from your panelist prior to submission.
Will there be any compensation for speakers?
All speakers will receive a Pass to PodSummit 2026, which gives you full access to the entire 2-day event, including the Speaker and Sponsor Reception on Thursday, October 15th, 2026. Speakers will also be given access to the Speakers Lounge with drinks and snacks provided throughout PodSummit 2026.
What are the key dates for the speaker application?
Applications are open from Wednesday, April 15th to Wednesday April 29th. All successful applicants will be notified before the end of May.
