As Manager, Creative Economy at Calgary Economic Development, he connects creators, industry, government, and investors to grow Calgary's creative sector and leads the development of the Creative Economy Innovation Hub (CEIH), helping turn big ideas into real opportunities.

A natural connector and recovering producer, Derek is passionate about building a stronger creative economy that works for everyone. When he's not bringing people together, you'll likely find him urban hiking, searching for yummy pizza, or pretending he'll eventually read that growing stack of books next to his bed.
